Refrigerator Installation Check
Do you need to verify a refrigerator was installed properly? Review the lists below for items we recommend you check.
Proper Installation Space?
LG Recommends 2 inches of space at top, sides, and back of unit. Also ensure doors have room to fully open.
Proper Temperature Environment?
LG Recommends unit be installed at 55-110°F / 13-43°C.
Proper Floor Condition?
Is the floor sturdy and level? Weak/unlevel floors can cause leveling and operational issues.
Water Supply Available?
If the unit has a water valve hookup, make sure the customers water supply is adequate and able to supply 20-120PSI to the unit.
Water Supply Condition?
Make sure the water supply line is in good condition. If defects are found replace with new water supply line.
Proper Power Supply?
Ensure the power outlet is supplying 120Vac +/- 10% to the refrigerator and is on a dedicated 15Amp Circuit.
- Ensure all external shipping material has been removed from the unit.
- Ensure that the unit is free from dents/scratches/other cosmetic imperfections.
Check Power
Ensure the unit is properly plugged into the 120Vac outlet.
If water was supplied...
Check to make sure the water line connection is secure and leak free.
Properly Level the unit
Use the front leveling legs to level the unit. Leveling legs should both be contacting the floor. The units should be installed with slight tilt to the back and perfectly leveled from left to right.
Check Door Level
After leveling the refrigerator cabinet, the doors may require additional leveling. Some models use adjustable jam nuts to accomplish this while others use c-clips to raise/lower doors.
Check Door Handles
If door handles were removed during installation, ensure they properly re-installed.
- Make sure the unit is powered on. Display and interior lights should be functional.
- If the unit has a dispenser, ensure that it functions properly. Run dispenser to remove air from the lines.
- If the unit has icemaker(s), ensure they are powered on and functional. Note: Newer models often have icemaker power On/Off function at the control panel.
- Check for Hidden Error Codes. If the unit has a digital display, press and hold (Freezer + Ice Plus) for 1-4 seconds to see if there are any hidden errors. If you see 88 88 the unit is error free.
