Electric Oven
Installation Check
Do you need to verify a wall oven was installed properly? Review the lists below for items we recommend you check.
Proper Installation Space?
The cabinet cutout must be sized properly for your particular unit. Wall oven sizes vary by model, so check the owner’s manual for your specific model. Make sure the cabinets and wall coverings around the oven can withstand the temperature (up to 194 ℉ (90 ℃)) generated by the oven. Discoloration, delamination or melting may occur.
Proper cabinet condition?
The cabinet must also be sturdy enough to hold the weight of the unit. Check the owners manual for your specific model for exact weight requirements. Typically, the cabinet base platform must be able to support 190lbs (86kg) for a single built in Oven, 325lbs (147kg) for a double built in Oven.
Proper Access to Power?
The unit must be hard wired into the home wiring through a junction box, using a plug and receptacle is not allowed on wall ovens.
Proper Power Supply?
Ensure the power supplied is 208/240Vac +/- 10% to the unit and is on a dedicated 30 Amp Circuit for a single oven or 40~50 Amp circuit for a Double Oven.
- Ensure all external shipping material has been removed from the unit.
- Verify that the unit is free from dents/scratches/other cosmetic imperfections
- Before moving the washer, ensure it can pass through all doorways and narrow openings.
- Ensure the unit is properly wired at the junction box, using either 3 wire or 4 wire power, per the specific application.
- Ensure the junction box is properly installed. The junction box should be properly secured to the cabinet, strain reliefs in place, and cover properly installed.
- Make sure the oven is properly secured to the cabinet. For securing the double wall oven, use a minimum of 4 screws, one on each side in both the upper and lower ovens. For securing the single wall oven, use a minimum of 2 screws, one on each side.
- Make sure the unit is powered on. (Display and lights should be functional)
- After installation, ensure the door opens and closes properly. Typically, during installation of a wall oven, the door(s) are removed. Make sure the door(s) are reinstalled properly and fully open and close as designed.
- Ensure the racks slide in and out of the oven properly.
- Do the elements inside the oven all energize and heat? Verify that the oven elements are all operational before leaving the home.
